10×10 Capsule Challenge: Week 1

This week I went a little further into simplifying my closet and I’m participating in a 10 Item Mini Capsule Challenge with Lee and Andrea. Definitely go check out the looks these talented women are creating with their 10 pieces, it is so inspiring to see women doing more with less – amazing!!

The Good:

It could not have been any easier to get dressed in the mornings this week. I typically do some outfit planning on weekends for the week ahead, but when I have more options in my closet I tend to stray from my plan. With this mini capsule, I had to stick to what I had planned or else I’d be wearing the same pieces over and over. Because I love all of these pieces and the way they work together I didn’t feel stifled by this at all. It just felt easy.

The Bad:

On Friday morning, moments before I left for work, I had a run in with an explosive baby diaper and my last clean shirt couldn’t be worn #momlife 🙂 I managed to get the photos before then, but for work I wore a long sleeve striped tee instead. I will have to take a “break” from the 10 pieces over the weekend to get everything cleaned and ready to wear again next week, so unless you do laundry throughout the week I don’t think 10 pieces is sustainable long term.

    1. Nicely done! I love hearing how this made getting dressed even easier than normal. Did you feel like ‘yourself’ in your outfits? I always love creating outfits that feel super ‘me.’

Looks 2 and 4 are my favorites!

      1. Thanks! I do feel pretty “me” in my outfits. Though, just like last time with the 20 pieces I miss having footwear options more than anything. I realize how much I like changing the feel of an outfit with footwear. But, oh I love easy mornings! Less is better 🙂

    1. Love all your looks Paige! If I HAD to choose I might say Look 2 was my favourite but they were all a great example of how simple-chic is the best approach. Looking forward to seeing the next 5! xoxo
