Distressed denim and crochet

One thing I’ve missed most about being limited to maternity clothes (at least the maternity clothes I bought) is the lack of texture. Most pieces are super stretchy cotton-y material, which is obviously the point because they need to grow with you, but it gets kind of boring when you feel like that’s all you own.

I have missed different fabrics that hang in different ways and being able to layer pieces with different textures to create interest in an outfit.

This lace crochet top (which sells at a dress, but that’s just not happenin’ here) was a great find. I’ve seen it listed on a few sales sites, but I got mine for under $8 here and there are 4 other colors. I ordered the XL for extra space. It fits comfortably over my bump and I think postpartum I’ll take it in a bit to make it more of a tee for layering in the fall. I linked a similar top from Old Navy and the jeans here.

I also love the contrast of the feminine shirt with the distressed denim.

    1. Love seeing your fashion bump ideas! Just ordered the “shirt” in the kelly green color. I am still in my first trimester, but know this will be a great staple this summer for my future bump. Thank you!

Also, Target has some of your favorite maternity dresses on sale for BYGO 1/2 off. I was very excited to scoop them up.

      1. Thank you, Lauren! I LOVE the green color of the shirt. I’ve seen a lot of girls on Instagram wearing them as tunics, which would be so cute. I think I may want to layer it in the winter, so I may hem it a bit shorter for that.

What colors did you get in the Target dress? If I weren’t so close to my due date, I’d get a couple of more.

        Thanks for reading,
