Slice of Life 01.17.16

Hi there! I hope you all are having a great weekend. I am looking forward to having Monday off, it always makes the weekend chores seem so much less urgent and rushed when there’s a whole extra day to get things accomplished.

I’m on day 14 of my Eat.Feel.Live.Love. Challenge and going strong. I did go off plan for one meal last night. We went out to celebrate my sister and cousin’s birthdays and I shared a salad and thin crust pizza with my husband…and some wine. And then my husband’s aunt pulled out the most glorious peanut butter chocolate cupcakes and I couldn’t resist. I mean, she could become famous for these things. Anyway, it was a worthwhile “cheat” on some good quality, delicious food and now it’s back on track. I have lost about 6.5 pounds, so I’m motivated to keep it up!

Beyond that, here are some little tidbits from the wonderful world wide web that I wanted to share with you…

Here is a good tip for moms who sometimes feel they’re stuck in a never-ending cycle of chores…dishes, laundry, picking up after kids, etc. This is something I really want to try to be aware of each day.

I posted Friday about dusting off my clogs after years of being in storage. I wanted to do some investigating on if they are really making a comeback, so I went to the authority on all things cool…Pinterest. Here are some pins that really caught my eye: clogs with boyfriend jeans, as part of a momiform, and these are just cute outfits, this is it…my dream outfit, and paired with a skirt.

I wanted to remind you that I’m doing a Nickel & Suede $50 Shop Credit giveaway over on this post on Instagram! I have worn these earrings every day since I got them and you really don’t even notice you have them on! I’m loving these new colors, this bracelet, and this scarf from their shop.

And finally, after looking at my capsule stats earlier this week, I’ve been toying around with the idea of an even smaller wardrobe. Maybe even just for a few weeks to see how it feels? This strategy of coming up with a formula and creating a 20 piece wardrobe seems like a lot of fun, so that may be my next wardrobe experiment.

Thanks, as always, for following along! I love hearing from you, so if there’s every anything you’re wondering about or would like to see, let me know!
