The Good:

I am love, love, loving my Spring Capsule! I am so glad I learned the lesson of adding more variety and texture after my Winter Capsule started to feel redundant. I feel I’m able to create a wider range of looks out of the same items, which has been a goal – to do more with less. My favorite looks from this week are Sunday’s birthday party look, mostly because the items are so comfy (I highly recommend theย Gapย linen tank). Besides my day 4 dirty hair I felt pretty pulled together. I also am loving the muted, lighter neutrals in Wednesday’s outfit and the wide leg pants are so fun to wear.

The Bad:

I’m not sure the boyfriend jeans are the most flattering cut for me, I think they make me look a little shorter and squatter than I already am. However, I love the distressed look and more casual feel, so they aren’t going anywhere! Also, I don’t think those were the right shoes to wear with the wide leg crops on Thursday. I think some gladiator type sandals would have been better, but it didn’t feel quite right pulling them out this early in the spring. I love the outfit, but I think there’s room for improvement. And last, with the warmer temps I’m showing more skin and a little color would be good ๐Ÿ˜‰

It’s been warming up quite a bit, so I’m trying to squeeze in the last few wears out of my cardigans, boots, and layers before we’re on to spring. I always love the new season, but I’m not one to rush into it. I have been contemplating the addition of some black Birkenstocks…I wear my brown ones all of the time, but I think I’d get a lot of use out of black too. On the other hand, how many pairs of Birks does one lady need?!?! Oh, the struggles of truly contemplating every single purchase ๐Ÿ˜‰

What’s on your spring/summer wish list?ย

More about Paige

    1. Love all of these looks, especially Wednesday’s! I want a pair of boyfriend capris, but like you said, I feel they make me short and wide ๐Ÿ™
Do you think birks are worth the price?? I really want some black ones too! Are the super comfy?

      1. Thank you, Patty! I love my Birks and because I don’t work during the summer I wear them almost every day. They are very comfortable and hold up so well that if you think you’ll wear them a lot or for a few years they’re totally worth it. They aren’t the cutest, but I was so glad when they made a comeback – I had a pair through high school and college that I wore constantly!

    1. Girl, you look so good! I hear ya on the boyfriend jeans, I feel squatty in mine too. I throw mine in the dryer and that helps. But some days I just feel like, you know what? Who cares? I feel good in them, even with boxy shoes too. I just love your color palette on Tuesday, a bit unexpected and totally harmonious. And you’re killing it with those black pants, so glad you kept them!!

I wanted black birks last summer and they were not in my budget, when I still wanted to them this spring, I decided to go for it. I like how them being black sort of owns the ‘ugly shoe’ status that they are instead of trying to be cute, haha. The black birks look really great with skirts and dresses! And I still have two other pairs of birks, but I probably wont wear them a ton this summer now that I have the black ones! I have black gizeh (thong style) but the thing between my toes requires a break-in period EVERY summer. ;/

      1. If I didn’t know better I’d think you were trying to talk me into the Birks! ๐Ÿ™‚ I would be interested to see if I’d reach for my brown or black more? I think boyfriend jeans are tricky to pull off – they seem to work best on tall, thin figures. I love them though, so you’re right – who cares?!

    1. Your spring capsule has been SO GOOD. I really love how you are so creative with your style, I feel like you nailed it with the wide crops – I really like those shoes with the pants and feel like it very chill and effortless looking. I also think the bf jeans are super cute on you, they fit you really well which is soooo hard to do with bf jeans and you look really cute and super happy in all of your outfits! As for getting black birks, I think you should go for it! I love my black birks and just bought some silver ones I’d been thinking about since last summer – got to have some fancy birks! ;). If anyone wants birks, knows their size but feels like they’re too expensive, ebay is amaaaaazing for brand
new birks at the 60-90 range and there’s so many styles and colors!

      1. Katie,
Thank you so much! LOL – fancy Birks! ๐Ÿ™‚ I have been so happy with my spring capsule and the variety I included – I think I’m figuring it out!

        1. 1) Yes I am! But only because I know you can.

          2) YES! Your most authentic wardrobe should be to please yourself and not others. Wear those boyfriend jeans. Yes, experiment with how, but enjoy them. You’re a babe!
