For whatever reason, the postpartum weight loss thing has really got me down this week. :/ I haven’t been super strict, but I have been conscious of eating decent and squeezing in workouts when I can and am getting no results. I’m not expecting to drop to my prepregnancy weight without a little work, but I was hoping patience and letting some time pass since having Brynn would at least drop a couple of pounds.
But nope, I’m totally stuck. Brynn is now 15 weeks and I have been at the same weight since she was 4 weeks old (I did drop a couple of pounds during a month of strict dieting, but it came right back the minute I had a piece of pizza). Because she was still only 2 months old, I decided to step back a bit and give it some time before I tried again. I’m older, I’m breastfeeing, this is my 4th baby (and 10th pregnancy), and I’m not a weight-melts-right-off kind of girl, so I’m doing my best to be patient with myself. But this week I’m just feeling blah. My stomach is so pooched and flabby. My pants give me mega muffin top. And that damn scale won’t budge.
I know in the grand scheme of things this is such a small issue, but it definitely has been affecting me this week. Not to mention I’m feeling like a less than stellar mom (I’ve just lost my cool a few more times than I’m proud of), so I’m just kind of beating myself up a bit.
Does anyone else just ever have weeks like that? Hoping a weekend (and an extra hour of sleep) help me pull myself together a bit.
For all of you moms out there, how did your postpartum weight loss go? Am I just being too impatient or is it time to start busting my butt? At what point did you stop relying on “time” and start really putting effort in (if you needed to)?
Ok, woe is me time is over. Thanks for putting up with my little pity party. Now…
On to the outfit – I love the classic, black blazer paired with denim. I actually didn’t have a black blazer, so I got rid of a few older blazers I had and bought this H&M blazer secondhand on poshmark. It’s a very simple, classic cut, which is what I was looking for. A striped tee and leopard heels add some interest, but I think it would be just as great with a white or gray tee.
