As I enter the second half of the summer 10×10 mini capsule challenge it keeps popping into my mind how much I love the ease of a small wardrobe. It removes the decision making and uncertainty about what to wear and leaves behind the fun stuff….feeling good in your clothes, getting creative with new combinations, and being able to wear your very favorite items over and over again.
Over the weekend we spent a lot of time at the pool, which conveniently gave me some time to catch up on laundry and make sure my 10 items were ready for this week. That is definitely one downfall of such a small wardrobe, one unexpected spill can really mess with your planned outfits for the week.
Here’s a look at a few outfits I wore when I wasn’t in my swimsuit or cover up.
A standard momiform for me. I love the double denim look, especially when there is a variation in the shades of blue, like there is here. Comfy shoes and the best diaper bag ever for a few early morning errands. Any other teachers our there love being able to do errands on a Monday morning when the stores are all quiet?
Friday evening after the baby went to bed I joined a few neighborhood ladies for a drink on the patio of a local brewery. This dress from Imby has been so versatile in my 10×10 from date night to coffee to drinks with friends. I added a chambray in case it cooled down enough (wishful thinking) and kept the accessories casual since it was a pretty low-key place.

I’ve been doing some work to prepare for the school year over the summer as part of a class I’m taking. This week I had the final evaluation meeting, so I copied the linen shorts and stripe tank outfit from last week, but added the cardigan and swapped shoes to change the feel of the outfit. This is a little more polished look for a summer meeting with colleagues.
